REFUSE TO BE CHEATED
Hello friend! Did you know that God’s plan is to ” … make of thee a great nation, bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing”? Yes, it is right there in Genesis 12:2 (Paraphrased)!
So, why do people seem to perpetually remain at the ‘back seat of life’? My guess is, unlike the Biblical Jacob, they agree to be cheated out of what is theirs.
You recall that Jacob’s Twin brother, Esau, sold him his birthright— because of a pot of portage (Genesis 25:31-34). Chai! Well, sometime after that transaction, when the Blessing of the first born was to be given to Esau, Jacob refused to be cheated and thus went for it.
Many people think that Jacob cheated Esau – but it was Esau who actually tried to cheat because he had already sold his birthright. Check it out here (Genesis 25:31-34). So, Jacob refused to be cheated and at the end, he proceeded with both the birthright and the blessing.
Do you allow people cheat you? Do you give up and walk away when what is rightfully yours is being contended with? Well, you have to grow some more resilience and stay put— and take what is rightfully yours through prayers, strategic thinking and actionable plans.
So, what do you want out of life?
Perhaps you wish to earn a degree? Learn a trade? Win a contract? Land a promotion? Get married and have a beautiful family? Burn for God and win souls for Him? Whatever it is that you desire (and whatever level you currently are at,) note that like Jacob, if you would employ a positive form of desperation which is acceptable by God’s standard, and go ahead to map out Godly strategies and attainable plans, then you will be able to attain whatever you seek in life.
Take away: Refuse to be cheated out of God’s promises to you. Take what is rightfully yours through prayers, strategic thinking and actionable plans.
JESUS IS LORD
